We’re in talks

This statement fills me joy, disappointment, anger and irritation. I find the escalation of emotions happen whenever a transfer story breaks for West Ham. I can’t help but to look over at other teams who seem able to start negotiations for a player and then sign them in a very short space of time. However, when the ever reliable sources i.e. ExWHUemployee and Fabrizio Romano provide an update the excitement starts but turns to frustration. Three days later we are still in talks, what are we talking about ?! The weather, how nice London is, what type of flat the player will live in! I struggle to understand what we are talking about for so long. Then we get hit with the ‘the deal is too expensive’. Surely the club know what the asking price is before they make formal contact with the selling club. It feels as though we are always trying to shop at Harrods with but we have a Primark budget (no disrespect to Primark). I might give it a go, I will head up to London walk into an designer shop ask for a nice shirt that costs £200 offer them £50 to be paid in instalments over 6 months, and then get offended when I’m escorted out of the shop by security; Silly analogy I know but you get the drift.

That being said we have made some good signings, Guilherme, Killman, Summerville and hopefully by the time we post this article Fullkrug and Rodriguez.

With just a couple of weeks before the start of the new season we really do need to get a move on as we are in desperate need for a right back and a centre back before that villa game or Watkins and co are going to have a field day with the options we currently deploy in those positions.

In closing it has been a good window so far but one can’t help to think if Sullivan wasn’t there pinching the pennies we would be so much further along.

Can’t wait for the seasons to start come on you rip roaring goal scoring irons
